Fly fishing the Colorado River beginning in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado? You would be remiss if you went to fly fish Colorado and skipped its namesake river. Be sure and take these tried and true, guide tested quality flies, “River Specific” for the Western River you plan to fish.

The Colorado River originates in Rocky Mountain National Park and goes westward, meandering through ranchlands until it reaches Byers Canyon. This section is tough to negotiate in high water but soon smoothes out below the canyon. This section can be great for the dry fly enthusiasts. Remember, this area is catch and release only.
