| Fly fishing the Roaring Fork
River near Aspen, Colorado?
Be sure and take these tried and true, guide tested quality
flies, “River Specific” for the Western River you
plan to fish.
The
Roaring Fork River is one of the states finest freestone
rivers. From its upper reaches high in the Rocky Mountains
until it meets up with and empties into the Colorado River,
The Roaring Fork offers a variety of fishing conditions to
choose from. From healthy brook trout in the upper part of
the stream and its tributaries to a fine population of rainbows
and brown trout in the main stem of the river above and below
the town of Aspen. The first designated wild-trout water
in the state lies between McFarland Creek to the Upper
Woody Creek
Bridge below Aspen. From Aspen to Carbondale is the most
popular section for wading fishermen. Floating the river
is best from
Carbondale to the confluence with the Colorado River at Glenwood
Springs. Enjoy and leave enough time to explore thoroughly
the 70 miles of angling adventure.
